Dear freelancer,

I work for a company that specializes in the study, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection systems. We work with external installers who install our systems.
All our products have a unique product number (PN), via a sticker on each product, and are placed in loops. In the final phase of a site, we go on site and can 'scan' the installed loops using software from our supplier. Each loop scan is a Word document.
In the study phase of a project, a list is drawn up of all components that will be installed. In Excel we keep all information per point (number, type, point name, detection zone, control, plan, ...) and a PN column. We provide this list to the installer, who will then paste the barcode next to the correct number for each element he installs. We then enter the barcodes in our list with a barcode scanner.
